Are you considering making Pine Mountain Club your home in the near future? Well, you’re in the right place! In this video, we’re going to be talking about the five top reasons why Pine Mountain Club is the perfect place to call home in 2023. We’ll share why PMC was the best mountain town for us and why it may be great for you too.
Reason 1: Affordable Home Prices
The number one reason we decided to purchase our home in Pine Mountain Club was the average cost per home was significantly lower than other popular mountain towns. For example, according to some Zillow consumer data, the average price point in Big Bear is just over $650,000 and in Lake Arrowhead it’s just under $670,000. For us personally, that was pushing our budget way overboard. Our PMC purchase left us with a little bit of budget so that we can furnish the home, but it also didn’t leave us house poor.
Reason 2: Remote Haven
The second reason Pine Mountain Club was a no-brainer for us is because it’s far enough to escape the stress from the city but close enough to go to and from on a consistent basis. Now because of access, we’re calling Pine Mountain Club the remote haven of 2023 and we’ll see this from personal experience. Pine Mountain hands down is the perfect backdrop to enjoy a work from home setup. For those days during the month where you have to travel into the city and go to the office, it’s close enough where you could do it consistently. Most of our clients have some type of work from home arrangement and the proximity has made Pine Mountain Club the perfect place to buy their first home so they still get to enjoy the city but they get to escape it when they come back home.
Reason 3: Not Too Commercial
The third reason we loved PMC is the fact that it’s not as commercial as some of the other more popular mountain communities. What this means is we don’t have crazy peak vacation seasons that you might see in some of the other mountain towns. Us personally, we were trying to get away from that congestion, not move to a forested version of that. Pine Mountain Club has only small businesses so our peak season is minimal compared to some of the other places that we looked at. The peace and quiet was important to us and because we’re a small community, crime is significantly lower than what you might be accustomed to in the big cities. It was the obvious choice for us when we were looking for a safe and quiet place for us to call home and work at.
Reason 4: Four Season Community
The fourth reason why you should move to the mountains outside of the other benefits we shared is it’s a four season community. We get spring, summer, fall, and winter. Summers in Pine Mountain Club were typically 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the surrounding large cities, so when you try to escape the hot summers in LA and Bakersfield, PMC is the perfect place to cool off and relax. We personally do not miss the summer heat. We really feel a difference when traveling to the city. And in stark contrast, PMC does have snow in the winter, but don’t fret. Full disclosure, it’s a California snow so it’s very manageable. It’s nothing like a northern winter and it’s actually a time of year that most of the locals look forward to. And you really do get that quintessential winter that you’re probably thinking of right now. That’s important because here in SoCal, we’re used to sunshine and then more sunshine. And if you haven’t had enough sunshine, you better be ready for some more sunshine. So living in PMC, it’s nice having the seasons change. It’s one of the reasons why a lot of our clients even moved up here in the first place. They wanted to live in a true four season community.
Reason 5: Surrounded By Nature
Lastly, the fifth reason we think that you should move to PMC in 2023 is the fact that it’s smack dab in the middle of the Los Padres National Forest. So if you’re an avid hiker or a general outdoor enthusiast, PMC is going to give you ample options to answer that call of the wild. Living here, this is what you get: stargazing, mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, camping, off-road trails for driving and riding, and of course all the wildlife you’ll see wandering around town. It really does provide everything other mountain communities offer but at a lower cost.
Conclusion
Those are the five reasons we believe PMC is one of the best mountain communities that you can move to in 2023. It’s the perfect place for first-time homeowners to break into the housing market and it’s one of the most affordable options for those who are just looking for a vacation home to enjoy. Now go ahead and take a look at this long-form podcast where Karen and I take a deep dive of all of these points to share why PMC was right for us and why it might potentially be right for you too.
